Perm State University (PSU) was founded in 1916. Since then the education is provided by the faculties of History, Philology, Geography, Law, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and others. Today, a hundred years later, the University has the status of a National Research University and is one of the leading universities in Russia. Students are taught on 12 faculties and 83 departments. The overall number of students is 12 000 (the biggest number of students in the region comparing to other Perm HEIs). The academic strategy is focused on the development of three levels of education and on the implementation of the international educational standards. PSU is engaged into the European projects and initiatives. The University provides programmes for lifelong learning, learning through research and many practice-oriented courses. Each year, students and teachers pass training in the best universities and research centers in the world, where improve their qualification, exchange experience with colleagues, join the global scientific trends.
