Dr. Alla Akulshina participated in the international scientific conference “Migration issues in Europe and their solutions” — 31 May-1 June 2019, Kaliningrad (Russia)
From May 31 to June 1, director of the Centre for International projects and programmes of VSU, coordinator of the POWERS Network, Dr. Alla Akulshina participated in the international scientific conference “Migration issues in Europe and their solutions” which was held at Baltic Federal University Immanuel Kant in Kaliningrad. The conference was organized by the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Russian World Foundation.
The conference was attended by 60 participants including leading Russian and foreign experts, experts from the Institute for Linguistic Civilization and Migration Processes of the Russian World Foundation, representatives of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professors, graduate students and students of Russian universities, leading researchers from scientific centers in the European Union as well as representatives of government and diplomatic corps.
During the conference, participants discussed the migration crisis in the European Union, the migration crisis in the context of EU transformation, the interrelation of migration and security issues, the migration policy of the EU and EU member states at the current stage, problems and prospects of the Russian migration policy.
The event also included round tables “Migration and European Identity: what is the image of the future?” and “Migration Issues: study and teaching in Russian higher education institutions”.
