On March 11-12, 2021, Kore University of Enna hosted the on-line POWERS Lectures on the topic "World Regions and Regional Integration: Languages, Dynamics and Rights". Professors from POWERS Network Universities (Prof. Daniel Bach, Sciences Po Bordeaux - France, and Prof. Muge Aknur, Dokuz Eylul University of Izmir - Turkey) and external Universities (Prof. Pasquale Borea, Dean of the College of Law, Royal University for Women - Bahrain, and Prof. Giovanni Finizio, University of Turin - Italy) discussed and analysed the challenging topic of the POWERS Lectures from the point of view of international relations and international law.

On Thursday March 11, Prof. Aknur focused on the reversal of civil liberties and political rights within world democracies while Prof. Borea analysed the Gulf Cooperation Council and regional integration processes in the Gulf.

On Friday March 12, Prof. Finizio examined the promotion of regionalism worldwide on behalf of the European Union (with a focus on EU-ASEAN relationships) while Prof. Daniel Bach, in the closing lecture, elaborated on the grammars and languages of regionalism and regional integration.

Each lecture was followed by long Q&A sessions with lively and thought-provoking debates among each lecturer and the almost 50 students of the Faculty of Law and Economics and the 13 Ph. Candidates of Kore University of Enna who attended the POWERS Lectures.

POWERS Lectures were organized by Professor Paolo Bargiacchi, Kore Academic Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Network POWERS, and holder of the Chair of Public International Law at Kore University.
